Nomis Solutions Expands Presence in Asia-Pacific With New Melbourne Office

Nomis Solutions, an innovator of fintech software that helps retail banks deliver win-win customer engagement through price optimization, customer-centric offers, and omnichannel sales enablement, has opened a new office in Melbourne, Australia. Situated in the central business district of Melbourne and providing easy access to the head offices of all of Australia’s top banks, the new office will also serve as a base for Nomis’ operations in Australia, New Zealand, and the wider APAC region.

With the aftermath of the Royal Commission, the imminent introduction of Open Banking, and the potential for interest rate rises in 2019, Nomis has mobilized its team to partner with banks to maximize the mutual opportunities for both customers and banks in the market. Nomis expects up to 50 employees will be based in the office and has job openings across functions that include business, technical and analytical services.

“Nomis Solutions is excited at the opportunity to expand its business within the region’s fast-moving financial services sector,” said Damian Young, managing director of Nomis Solutions Pty Ltd. “We are delighted to establish our head office in Victoria and we are looking forward to expanding our team locally to support our clients in Australia, New Zealand, and the wider APAC region.”

“We are delighted that Nomis Solutions has established its regional headquarters in Melbourne and demonstrated its commitment to their clients in this region. Westpac is looking forward to its continued partnership with Nomis,” said Chris Durney, head of pricing strategy and insights, Westpac NZ.

This new base of operations was secured with the support of Australia’s Victorian Government, which is committed to growing the state’s reputation as the number one tech destination in Asia-Pacific for global companies. Financial services are the largest sector of the Victorian economy, employing more than 109,000 people and contributing $40 billion per annum. New technologies are rapidly changing the way the financial services industry operates and the Victorian Government is working hard to ensure Melbourne’s vibrant fintech sector reaches its full potential for creating new jobs, businesses, technologies, and exports.

Critical to Nomis Solutions choosing Melbourne is the Victorian Government’s ongoing investment in key infrastructures such as the creation of two dedicated FinTech Hubs partnerships with Stone and Chalk and YBF Ventures to nurture local talent, attract investment and create jobs in this fast-growing global industry. Victoria is already home to a growing number of thriving fintech companies including Stripe, Expensify, Square, Airwallex, Assembly Payments, and Moula.

“The Victorian Government is committed to attracting and fostering the innovation that will drive the future of our vibrant financial services sector, and welcomes the establishment of Nomis’ regional center in Victoria,” said Minister for Trade and Investment Philip Dalidakis.

Headquartered in Silicon Valley, California, Nomis has been an innovator in price optimization since 2004. Nomis is the solution of choice for eight of the top 25 North American retail banks and continues to grow its customer base of more than 30 deployments globally. In late 2017, Nomis outgrew its San Bruno office and recently moved to a new 15,000 square-foot headquarters at the Sierra Point business park in Brisbane, California, providing a modern and accessible base for a growing team that will fuel future growth opportunities.
